Born in 1978 in Argentina. Lives and works in London.

The work of Amalia Pica revolves around transforming the various forms of communication into concrete visual signs, through her drawings, sculptures, performances, and installations. She is particularly interested in the limits, failures and gaps of language, addressing fundamental issues such as the acts of delivering and receiving messages (verbal or nonverbal) and the diversified forms these exchanges may take. Pica uses simple materials like photocopies, light bulbs, beer bottles, cardboards, and other found materials to create artworks that explore the metaphors, the civic participation and the relations between politics, history and their representation.
