Les Artistes

"La Gioia" october - december 2014

Born in 1979 in Italy. Lives and works between Venice and Amsterdam.

Giorgio Andreotta Calò’s work is situated at a crossing point between sculptures, actions and direct architectural interventions. He uses abandoned spaces and buildings, salvaged materials and discarded objects, thus re-appropriating the landscape and its history. His creations are the result of a full process rather than the simple realization of an idea; they might be interpreted as “active residues” of actions that have taken place in a specific time and space.
